Music Magazine: Mood Board

This mood board reflects some things my target audience might like including ways to spend their free time such as dancing, clubbing, celebrating or relaxing. They would like modern technology especially to access social networks and to download music as the popularity of CDs is decreasing. They'd also like iconic RnB artists such as Aaliyah, Mary J Blige, Beyonce, and Usher. In terms of clothing they might prefer casual and comfortable clothes such as baggy pants and trainers especially Jordans. Extravagant jewellery is also often associated with these two music genres e.g. gold chains and diamonds.

First Try: Magazine Front Cover and Contents

The first cover I designed looked alright however I soon realised that the font used for the masthead was not suitable for this day and age; it looked too old fashioned so I had to change it. Furthermore, the backdrop of the masthead looked too cheesy. I liked the blue colour scheme because it matches the colour of the actual sixth form. 

As for the contents page, I forgot to include the issue date and I found that there was too much blue which did not compliment the font or the layout so I decided to change that. Furthermore, the italicised 'CONTENTS' does not look as appealing as I originally hoped so I decided to alter that also. As for the pictures themselves,  I think I will revert back to their original colour.

(Blogspot would not allow the normal colourway of the image to show up. The background is white, the images are tinted blue and the font alternates from navy blue and sky blue - sky blue highlighting the sell lines on the front cover)
